Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) – Rechargeable Power Energy North America with its link to B&K Rechargeable Battery, one of Asia’s largest lithium cell manufacturers, has engineered a brand new line of advanced electric power-assist bicycles that will be fully assembled and shipped from a new Las Vegas production and warehouse facility starting in September 2012.
As one of the hardest hit cities in this economy, Las Vegas has been preaching diversity as a way back to prosperity for quite some time. Rechargeable Power Energy has chosen to base its operations in Las Vegas and to fully assemble rather than just import their new line of e-bikes for the North American market.
“It is no secret that virtually every major bicycle brand is made either whole or in part in Asia. For the electric bike market according to research reports from the Light Electric Vehicle Association, 29 million electric cycles are produced in China annually” stated Ray Verhelst, CEO of RPE, adding “we know that by bringing the bikes in unassembled, we will increase our costs slightly, but our quality and attention to detail will increase dramatically, and it gives us an important position as a job creator.”
Electric power-assist bicycles are actually classified as a traditional bike and while they have a maximum speed of 20 miles per hour, they require peddle support to activate the electric motor. These bikes are designed to allow the non-athletic adult or someone with a hip or knee issue to still experience the outdoors on a two-wheeler. For commuters, with a range over 35 miles on a single charge, these bikes can allow people to get to and from work without breaking a sweat for pennies a day.
The angular box aluminum frames set these bikes apart from the traditional style and offer a rugged and durable construction with critical attention to detail and finish. Additional technology features include large handlebar mounted LCD information displays, anti-theft wireless alarms and the ability to add one of the company’s external battery packs to almost double the ride distance.
The official launch of the bike line will happen at this year’s InterBike trade show, September 19-21, at the Sands Expo Center in booth 40099. This will be the first place where industry members and electric bicycle dealers will have a chance to see and ride the new énergie line.
The first chance for the consumer to check these bikes out will be during the Viva Bike Vegas event produced by the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada on Saturday, September 22, 2012. The new énergie dealer demo vehicle will be on display in Town Square. Interested riders will have the chance to demo the bikes around the streets of the shopping complex.
