One aspect of the Advanced Electric Drive Vehicle Education Program focuses on the support of National Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) Day Odyssey, including expanding the event to educate a new generation of consumers at the secondary school level on the subject of advanced electric drive vehicles.
During National AFV Day Odyssey 2010 and 2012, funding through the Advanced Electric Drive Vehicle Education Program allowed the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium to provide Odyssey sites with promotional items, such as brochures, notepads, pens, and tote bags to enhance the Odyssey message. Funding was provided for secondary school sites and traditional host sites to expand and enhance their Odyssey events. 50 traditional host sites in 2010 and 100 traditional host sites in 2012 received $1,000. 25 secondary school sites in 2010 and 50 secondary school sites in 2012 received $250.
